Why
Tech Host Academy is committed to accessibility and holds it as a core value. We strive to make this course affordable to anyone who is interested, across the financial spectrum.
We need help creating a new system we can all thrive in. Your contribution to the virtual environment is what makes our culture rich in diverse thinking and experience. We want to support you to meet your goals and take the next step on your tech hosting path.
I appreciate the opportunities given to me. Every significant thing I started or built began with an inspired idea, a scholarship, and a mentor who graciously took me under their wing. By allowing others to share in and believe my idea, it gave me the confidence to move forward and do my best. I believe if I were to provide that opportunity for others, they can take what I am teaching and do great things too. And I can’t wait to see what that looks like.
Who
Scholarship/Supported course invitations are awarded to individuals who:
- show potential and inspiration in the field of tech hosting and/or know that this skill set will]enhance their existing talents, and
- demonstrate financial need, and
- identify as a member of a marginalized community (including Persons of Colour, Indigenous people, Women, and Queer, Trans and Two-Spirit individuals, especially those who live at the intersections of two or more of these identities).
These invitations aim to evoke equity and justice by creating access for those who may face barriers to participation due to the ongoing impacts of institutional racism, bigotry, misogyny and colonization, and who also enrich and strengthen our field of practice by ensuring a diversity of cultures, identities and perspectives that represent our community and our creative work.
What
We give what we can. Partial scholarships (up to 50% of the registration fee) to Tech Host Academy are given based on availability and budget.
Need help convincing your boss, manager, banker or other decision maker to contribute the remaining balance? We can provide you with a business case outlining the benefits of obtaining this skill set for your team.
